about iSpiritual

iSpiritual.com is the offspring of a woman-owned engraving company. After 24 years in business, in the year 1999, we decided to become involved with a product that we found to be very inspirational and fulfilling in our business lives. We had "walked a labyrinth" for the first time in 1999 and realized that the experience gave us a tremendous feeling of empowerment. It brought clarity of purpose, focus, and it was, in and of itself, a soulful thing to be doing. That experience evolved into the product line that is to be found here. We are honored to offer these great products. We believe that they will enhance your life and the lives of your children.

the labyrinth

We offer a large variety and an unusual selection of labyrinths. These labyrinths are often called 'personal', 'finger', 'lap' labyrinths. You walk them with your finger or a stylus, there isn't a certain way to use them. Any way you're comfortable with in using these labyrinths is the right way.
Our labyrinths range in sizes from the smallest at 4 inches to the largest which is 18 inches.

Our product line is created using only the finest in materials. iSpiritual  has built its reputation on offering our customers the highest quality in products at the best price and the best personal in customer service. We take the term "service" very seriously, you will always deal with a real person when you need to connect with our company. Our policy is satisfaction guaranteed in our products, or you will be offered a refund  or replacement.

a bit of labyrinth history

The following is an excerpt from the book "Walking The Sacred Path", by The Rev. Dr. Lauren Artress.
"The labyrinth is an ancient pattern found in many cultures around the world. Labyrinth designs were found on pottery, tablets and tiles date as far back as 4000 years. Many patterns are based on spirals from nature. In Native American culture it is called the Medicine Wheel and Man in the Maze. The Celts described it as the Never Ending Circle. It is also called the Kabala in mystical Judaism. One feature they all share is that they have one path which winds in a circuitous way to the center.

The labyrinth design recognized by most people today is a replica of the 11-circuit labyrinth of Chartres Cathedral in France. This pattern, once central to cathedral culture, was inlaid into the stone floor in 1201. For the last 250 years, however, it has been ignored -- covered with chairs -- until *The Rev. Dr. Lauren Artress led the effort to reintroduce the labyrinth into the world as a spiritual tool.

Labyrinths are currently being used world-wide as a way to quiet the mind, find balance, and encourage meditation, insight and celebration. They are open to all people as a non-denominational, cross-cultural tool of well-being. They can be found in medical centers, parks, churches, schools, prisons, memorial parks and retreat centers as well as in people's backyards".

iSpiritual Wants to acknowledge and thank The Rev. Dr. Lauren Artress for bringing light to the path of the labyrinth.

The Rev. Dr. Lauren Artress is the founder of Veriditas, The World-Wide Labyrinth Project. She is the one who brought the labyrinth to the USA, and led the movement to put a Chartres labyrinth in the Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, CA. USA.

a bit of labyrinth history

Q. What’s a labyrinth?

A. Labyrinths are geometric patterns that have been found around the world for thousands of years. They appeared in churches in medieval Europe, on the walls of caves in North America, on coins, on the shores of Scandanavia and many other locations.

Q. What are the different types of labyrinths?

A. Walking Labyrinths are large enough to literally be walked and can be either permanent or temporary constructions and either indoor or outdoor. Personal Finger Labyrinths offer a different, yet equally rewarding experience, and have the added benefit of convenience and portability. They can be made from a variety of materials, in a variety of designs and sizes.

Q. How do you use a Personal Finger Labyrinth?

A. You trace the labyrinth pattern with your finger along the grooved pathway to the center and then back out again. You may either have a question or intention or issue as a focus, or you may wish to simply be open to whatever the experience has to offer.

Q. Why would I use a Personal Finger Labyrinth?

A. There are many benefits and reasons people use Personal Finger Labyrinths: stress reduction, quieting your mind, centering, focusing, problem-solving and spiritual reflection.
